Thanks Joe!
Yes, that’s more or less what I would expect from the ”Local Tags” that eM Client provides.
What I’m trying to do is use the ”Server Tags” which in my case essentially is Gmail Labels as my accounts is from Gmail.
Meaning, if I delete, rename or change color a ”server tag” in eM Client, It would also be deleted in my Gmail account.
So would I use email with another client, or directly through Gmail in the browser, the tags is in sync.
This do work well for me using eM Client.
However there’s a natural downside (in my opinion) using Server Tags / Gmail Labels,
That is, that the tag is specific for that account.
So if I have a tag called ”Invoice” I do have a Gmail Label called ”Invoice” for each of my accounts.
This is as expected, and Is not the ”fault” of eM Client. But the cost of having everything in sync is to have a set of tags for each account.
That’s ok, but when you have say 5 accounts, and you want to get the ”invoice” it would be great not to go digging in five different tags / labels.
What em Client on Mac has made me able to an accomplish is using Search Folders (or Saved Searches / Smart Folders).
With the Search Folder I’ve managed to create a search that fetches all of the tags named ”Invoice” (or whatever) from the various accounts, giving me fast access to to the invoices no matter which account they are in.
However, I can’t accomplish this on iOS, since I only can make Search Folders with the Local Tags as a criteria for search.
Anyone know if this is a limitation in the iOS app at the moment?
If so, is there a technical limitation that hinders this?
Or if I’m missing something and some one else have managed to use Server Tags as a search criteria?
A way around this would be to double up, meaning I use both Local and Server Tags. But that can quickly become tough to manage.
