I have a number of email accounts and I have now separated them in to 2 EMClient profiles.
However, If I have 2 EMClient profiles open (same user, same login), the second EMClient profile is unlicensed!
I have 2 PC’s that i use and I have a Pro license for each PC.
This MUST surely be a bug.
Hello,
Could you please provide more details about your setup by contacting us at [email protected]?
According to our records, you hold a Pro license, in which case both profiles should be covered under the same license.
Best regards,
T
Hi,
Thank you…
I sent you some emails earlier…
For the benefit of others, I have created 4 profiles, 2 of which start licensed, 2 of which are in demo mode (with the clock ticking)…
This is going to be a BIG problem soon as one of the profiles always says DEMO even when it is the only profile loaded.
I now have just 3 days left.
There is no such problem. Once the trial is over for that profile it will continue working normally. What is your ticket number?
I am not aware of a ticket number…
I have sent what I have to [email protected] as requested above, but have received no response to my 3 emails in total.
IF there is NO problem, why am I being prompted.
Also, if it reverts to FREE version, I will have a problem as I have more than 2 accounts in the profile.
I have left my review on Trustpilot (1/5) as the support for using paid for software has been non-existent so far.
I have also raised another question Which License Key have I used, as i would like to be able to determine which of my 2 license keys I used on this machine. But have had no response to that either.
Well, this forum is primarily a community support from other users. No response times are guaranteed here. If you purchased a license, you are eligible to VIP support as described on our web and in the email you’ve received with your license.
Back to your issue. We are now aware this dialog can be shown and you can completely ignore it. Your license won’t be changed to free limited license. We’ll prevent showing this dialog in an upcoming update.
OK, apologies as i am double posting…
IF I am entitled to VIP support, why do I get
and why did you send me an email on 14/02/2024 stating…
eM Client:
VIP Support
is about to expire
Dear user,
Your VIP Support is about to expire.
To unlock VIP Support and enjoy the professional assistance of our helpdesk for another year, please purchase a 1-year VIP Support extension to your license.
License holder: Geoff March
Company: —
Number of devices: 1
VIP Support expires: 2/28/2024
Total price: £9.95
I am now totally confused!
So if your VIP support already expired (1 year of VIP support is included with any paid license), why are you complaining about slow support? I don’t follow.
Michal,
That is NOT what you said…
You said that as a Pro user I get VIP support. NOT TRUE!
I was not aware you bought the license more than a year ago. I was just trying to help, which is what is this forum all about. We state that VIP support is included with the one time fee licenses for 1 year very clearly on our pricing page.
OH, it just gets better…
Untested BUGGY software!!
So I figured out which key was required and tried to enter it
OH dear. emclient crashed, BUT the software is still unlicensed…
I suggest that you avoid profiles until emclient sorts out its bugs…
If my previous experience is anything to go by (when I did pay for Pro support), emclient acknowledged there was a problem but it remains unsolved still today.
Hence the reason I do not pay for PRO as there is no point if they do not fix problems that you identify!
NOT IMPRESSED
However, there may be a glimmer of hope…
After many days I received the first helpful and positive email from Kristýna…
Cross fingers…
I guess you were installing a version 10.3 and was asked to restart the computer after the installation because some of the files were in use and you didn’t do that and then you experienced this crash because some files are already upgraded to version 10.3, some are still 10.1. That’s what we see in the crash report. If you really restart the computer this problem should be resolved. If that does not help unistall the version 10.3 and install it again (your data will remain untouched).
OK
I ALWAYS restart when prompted…
I have worked in IT all of my life.
Thank you
We can see clearly that the binary file Licensing.Client.dll is version 10.1, but with correct finished install it should be 10.3, the same as the main binary. This is what caused the crash.
Yep
I see
Could not load type ‘MailClient.Licensing.Client.Generated.GeneratedClient’ from assembly ‘Licensing.Client, Version=10.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null’.
Problem fixed…
IF emclient uninstalled completely this would not be a problem…
I uninstalled emclient
I then renamed C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client
as
C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client removed
Surprise, it worked…
Normally the C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client directory “does remove” when you uninstall the program from the testing ive personally done over the years. So sounds like was some sort of eg: possible Windows registry glitch. Great its working now though.
