How do you use a contact’s first name in the body of the email when mailing to a distribution list?
Hi Abigstoz. Can you elaborate or post a screenshot (with example information) of what you mean? Are you thinking of automatically inserting the contact’s name, much like Microsoft Word does with a Mail Merge from a list of contacts? Then from a list of names in a distribution list you’ll generate one customized email for each recipient?
Hi Toni,
Yes that’s right. I would like to automatically insert the contact’s first name, exactly like Microsoft Word does with a Mail Merge from a list of contacts. The list of contacts would be a distribution list, that contains the contacts’ names. The outcome would be a customized email for each recipient.
You probably need to use an email service like MailChimp which can do mass, customized individual emails. I don’t think em client has macros where you can automate a task and pull content dynamically from a database or list.
Ok thanks, I thought it was worth a try.
Really appreciate your help! Thanks again.

This might help you.
You could eg: use the Send as Mass Mail option “using Variables in the body of the emails” to then send individualised messages “with the persons name” as per @Gary links below.
Thanks I will give it a try!
