Upgrading from V9 to V10 - Emails not displaying correctly

Hi all,

I have a Free Version of 9.2.2258. Can I upgrade to V10 and keep my free version? Any licensing things I need to do?

TIA

A single free license for personal use is valid for 1 computer which “can be used on any version of eM Client”.

So yes you can keep and use it on V9 or V10. Just not on more than one computer at a time.

If you want to use it on multiple computers “at the same time”, you can purchase the new V10 Personal version which can then be used on 3 devices at the same time with the one licence.

Thanks for the reply.

So I just download V10, run it, and it will update V9?

TIA

Yes if you have a free personal version 9 or Pro with lifetime upgrade version just d/l & install.

Hi,

Just updated and all good except some emails with embedded images are way too big now.

This is how it was in V9 and presently in Thunderbird:

EDIT: If I forward the message from Em Client it then displays like V9/Thunderbird.

Could be you have some emails zoomed.

Right click in the body of the email and select “Zoom Original”.

Apart from that if an Inline image original size is very large pixel size, then you can “click on the inline image once”, and then in the top left corner of the body you can adjust the original size smaller to fit “if you are then forwarding or replying to an email”. See example below.

eM Client allways displays the inline images received “in exactly the pixel size it was sent in”. But you can then adjust that smaller when replying or forwarding messages.

Thanks for your reply.

Zoom Original is already selected.

Does not explain why V9 did not do this with the same email.

Nor why when you either Reply or Forward the email it displays correctly.

Here is the reply email, note showing original:

Here’s the Inbox message zoomed in to max (Ctrl -). Where are those two large Zoho Logos coming from. Something weird is going on.

Whats the width / size & height in pixels of those incoming message inline images if you save one to your hard-disk ?

Small - 202 x 87 pixels
Large - 2103 x 904 pixels

Large = 10.4 times Small.

Plain text format shows:

All the JPG’s are showing in the email body, but only when viewing received email. Forward and Reply they are not.

This does not happen in V9 nor Thunderbird, only the small JPG is in the body of the email at all times.

Just had another look at Thunderbird and I can make it display the questioned email like em client if I change the email format to Simple HTML.

Orginial HTML format makes the email display correctly.

This is my understanding of the Thunderbird email formats:

Simple HTML : will interpret basic HTML commands, disables Javascript, and doesn’t display remote images. You will see text in colours, bold. italics, etc., and images
that have been embedded (included) in the page.

Original HTML: will interpret all HTML. You will see everything the writer included. It will look like a web page.

Plain Text: shows text only, without bold/italics, etc. Embedded images etc will usually show as attachments in the Status Bar.

All the JPG’s are showing in the email body, but only when viewing received email. Forward and Reply they are not.

This does not happen in V9 nor Thunderbird, only the small JPG is in the body of the email at all times.

As far as I know eM Client shows the sender HTML email as Original format.

As the JPG files are showing ok when viewing the received HTML email but not when replying or forwarding, try using the “Forward as Original” option and see if it makes any difference.

If still not showing correctly, you might need to send that email & the source code into support if you have a paid Pro account to be checked out.

No, you have it backwards. Received email = Bad. Replying & Forwarding = Good.

It’s only the received email that is bad and only with V10. V9 was OK.

Ok if its then only with V10 “when viewing received email that is bad”, that will need to be sent in on a vip support ticket to be investigated via the following link.

However “if you don’t have a current paid active account to lodge a support ticket”, update below the source code of the received html email in V10, and maybe someone on the forum might be able to see why its not displaying the received html email the same as in V9.

Thanks for help @cyberzork it’s appreciated.

Here is the Source Email.

Just installed V9 to double check on a new VM and it has no issues.

Hoping someone can find the issue.
