I was promoted to update to eM Client 7 and clicked the button thinking it was just patches, didn’t realize it was a full upgrade. When it was finished all my previous email was gone. I then attempted the steps to import old eM Client data but apparently the version I upgraded from was older than eM Client 6 and I can’t seem to get my old emails to be imported. Are they lost or can I get them back?
You can uninstall eM Client, then download and re-install the previous version you were using from https://www.emclient.com/release-history
I updated to 7 and lost my data. I don’t know which version I had before updating to 7. It was likely quite old. How do I found out what to download for the older version to get my data back?
If you updated from version 6, simply go to menu/file/import and click on eM Client 6. If you had a version older than 6 you will know, as the import will not work. If you go to https://www.emclient.com/release-history, you can download any version, but I’m not sure how you would determine which version you were using. Maybe try the last version 5?
Note-- you will have to uninstall version 7 first to downgrade, but the uninstall will not delete your data (still might want to do a backup).
