Basic question.
When I run emclient-v9.1.2109.msi first box is “Change, repair or remove installation.” rather than the expected “Upgrade from pervious version”
What is the expected process to upgrade from 8 to 9?

That is probably because you already have 9.1.2109 installed.
You are correct.
I was trying to upgrade as I received an email from EmCleint telling me a new version was available and check for update showed none. I should have realised the updates in the program did whole version numbers.
