Version 10 now shows the read-only Other Contacts folder for Google accounts, so that could be it. If they are in that folder you will need to open the Google Contacts web page and delete them there.
Or for other accounts, maybe it is also in a read-only folder. If that is so, you can’t delete them in eM Client.
