Updating difficulties

I am trying to update and a box comes up asking me to enter username and password, but does not indicate where. Where do I enter those details?

If you can, be sure to do an eMC BACKUP [Menu > BACKUP] prior to doing anything else!!

Very kind of you to reply. I tried as you suggested, including Backup, but the same box came up asking whether I wanted to allow this app to make changes, but giving me no other option than No.

If you are comfortable executing these steps, give this a try:

(1) Delete any installation files you have downloaded.
(2) Uninstall eM Client, making sure to NOT delete your database directory when asked. This will ensure your settings and data remain in place.
(3) If it exists, delete C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client
(4) Download and install the latest version from here
(5) The latest version of eM Client should then start with all your data in place.

My attempts to use my free licence, are all met with the same message, “incorrect licence, if you believe the licence is correct please contact the vendor”…why???
