Update to Version 10.4.5642.0 does not work for me. Currently using 10.4.4867. Update downloads a file named tmpp0k02c.tmp.msi and then goes looking for one called emclient-v 10.4.4195.msi. in a directory that does not exist. Need some help!
Re-download it again from Download eM Client for Windows | eM Client
For some reason you have ended up with a temporary file, note the “tmp” twice in the file name. You should end up with a file named emclient-v10.4.5642.msi and that´s the one you need.

As you now have no idea the state of eMC it could be sensible to delete eMC
and start again, HOWEVER, only do this if you have a Backup that was made
before the failed update,
If you do not have a Backup you can still delete as follows:
When you uninstall eM Client, you are asked if you want to delete the database folder.
If you choose NO, all data and settings will still be there after the reinstall.
If the database is not corrupt you should succeed.
We have never experienced a problem upgrading.
We have always done the following:
DOWNLOAD HERE: RELEASE HISTORY
USING EXISTING DATABASE
1./ We have never accepted the “Push” upgrade other than to note availability
2./ To proceed…
3./ Download the relevant upgrade .msi installation file HERE
4./ Move file to Desktop for convenience, if not already there
5./ Double click the .msi file and wait for installation to complete - be patient!
6./ Disable option to:
Set eMC as default application (as upgrading should already be set - do manually if not)
Run on Windows start up (you can set this later if you want - we do not)
7./ Finish
Launch eM Client
USING BACKUP FILE (make a copy of Backup and move to Desktop)
1./ Install eMC
2./ Having installed eMC and skipped initial setup
3./Move the ZIP backup file to: …\Documents\eM Client
4./ Create the eM Client folder if it is not there
5./ Restore from your backup through Menu ->File ->Restore
6./ This will transfer everything to mirror your previous installation
Again this procedure has never failed for us.
