I reported this issue some time ago but nobody could replicate it at the time. However, I can now replicate it on multiple systems.
Problem occurs on gmail Calendar.
Create a simple new future event with recurrence set to daily for 2 days.
Then from monthly calendar view, right click first occurrence and add a tag.
As well as the tag being added, the system adds an unwanted reminder at start
There are other scenarios where this issue happens: for example to events where the tag is included in the event creation window. Then when you right click a future occurrence to remove a tag, an unwanted reminder is set.
Hopefully others can replicate.
Create a simple new future event with recurrence set to daily for 2 days.
Then from monthly calendar view, right click first occurrence and add a tag.
What day in the week do you create the future recurring event.
Also can you do a screenshot of your future event and blank out anything personal so we can then see if we can replicate it.
Also what version of eM Client are you using, and do you have Windows or Mac.
Problem occurs on any day of the week as far as I can tell.
Future event created repeating for 2 days
Event shows in month view
Right click on first occurrence to add tag
Month view shows tag added, but unwanted reminder also set
Using Microsoft Windows 11 Home 10.0.26100 Build 26100 and eM Client 10.4.4195 (7d32f97)
Same problem occurs on my wife’s Win 10 PC with different gmail account.

Yes i can replicate that with a Gmail Calendar, where “after creating a Standard Recurring 2 day event in Month view as per your created event example screenshot” on the eg: 4th of January from 9.30am - 10.00am.
I then “right clicked on the first event in the 2 day recurring event” and then changed the Tag Colour, and it does then automatically add a “At Start” reminder “in the first day of the 2 day recurring event” as in the screenshot example below. So yes there appears to be a bug.
If you open the event and click “All” on the popup window, it says No Reminder in the event. However if you open the event and press “This” it also does show the reminder.
Thanks for confirming. The problem also occurs the other way round: if you set up a recurring event with a tag defined at event creation, so that all events are displayed tagged, then when you remove the tag from an individual event, a reminder is set at start.
Is there a process I need to follow to report the bug, or will the dev team pick it up from these posts?
The company and support staff do read the forums so will see this issue and sometimes respond.
If you have a current active paid Pro, Personal or Business version, you can go to the VIP Support page and login and lodge a support ticket with the issue and link this thread.
Thanks again. I am a home user so don’t have a support package. Hopefully the support team will replicate it and raise it as a bug. Regards - N
There is another scenario where an unwanted reminder is set that does not involve tags.
In a gmail calendar, create an event on say a Monday with recurrence set to weekly for say 3 weeks. Then from the month view, drag the second occurrence from Monday to Tuesday: the month view will show that an unwanted reminder is set at start of the second occurrence.
Hope that helps someone track down the bug. N
Support advised this issue is currently being investigated by eM Client Devs.
