How to delete obsolete addresses

When I start a new email and type in the beginning of the email address, a number of auto-completion options offer. How do I delete the now obsolete ones? As I was writing this post I was referred to Delete unwanted email addresses suggestions - #6 by Paul_Technical_Suppo, but none of the RELEVANT suggestions was effective.
