Unread mail in inbox

Am using the latest version 10.0.3.3530, my inbox keeps showing spurious amounts of mail like ‘21’ when there are only 3 mail in the box.
Have I missed something or do I have a problem?

If you elected to use Categories during the installation, have you looked for the messages in the other Inbox category tabs?

If you later decide not to use categories, you can disable them in Menu > Settings > Mail > Categories.
