If you are referring to the Favourites Global Folders enabled in the left panel, then “right click” on the Favourites heading and click “Display” and make sure you have a check / tick on Unread.
You can also see the Unread messages by clicking the “Filter” button at the top right of the Message list and click “Unread” as per example screenshot below.
You can also see the Unread messages by clicking / toggling the “Read Status” icon at the top left of the Message list as per example screenshot below.
