If I install verion 5.0 Beta, is version 4 uninstalled? In other words, if I install version 5, can I go back to version 4?
Once you install 5 Beta you cannot go back to version 4. eM Client’s database cannot be accessed by older version of eM Client. You can workaround it by backing up your database folder.
Database location:
C:\Users%Current User%\AppData\Roaming\eM Client (Vista/Win7)
C:\Documents and Settings%Current User%\Application Data\eM Client (XP)
If you will need to go back to an older version, simply copy the backed up database to the original location.

I think it might be useful for future testers if in the beta product description this restriction is stated in order to be advised that there is no way back if you don’t make a previous backup.
