Unauthorized Server

Since I did the recent upgrade, I keep getting a pop up screen that says Unauthorized Server. I have checked with my server provider (earthlink) and they say it is with emclient. I see other past issues people have had with this same problem but no solutions. Please help, it’s driving me crazy!

If you are getting that unauthorised error when setting up your email account when using the automatic account wizard, then could be your Earthlink server has restrictions.

So first make sure you can login ok via your Earthlink webmail. Also check that your Earthlink mailbox has no restrictions for mail clients. Eg: Sometimes you have to enable third party mail client access or enable specific mail clients depending on your particular mail server. If it’s like a University they can impose restrictions.

If you are not sure if there is restrictions like that in or with your mailbox, check with your Earthlink technical support for assistance.

Also sometimes if your mailbox doesn’t support OAuth token passwordless logins, then you sometimes need eg: Two-step app passwords. So check with your technical support if they do support OAuth or need manual setup with app passwords.

Also did you setup via the automatic account wizard and get that error part way through and if so, what screen do you get up to ?, or are you trying to manually setup the account?

Can you do a screenshot of exactly where you get up to in the setup, and also what version of eM Client are you using and do you have Windows or Mac.
