Unauthorized access

I am getting this error:


System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client' is denied.

at MailClient.DbRepair.FormCheck.Form_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)


tried uninstalling, re-installing… same.

Can someone please help?

It means access to the C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\ folder is denied, possibly by your OS or some security app.

You should restart WIndows, applying any pending updates, then try again.

Thank you Gary, but like I said: I did uninstall, restart windows, re-install emClient… Not sure what the issue is.

I like the program, but I just don’t have time for these issues…

Can you try a re-install this way:

  1. Close and uninstall eM Client, making sure NOT to delete the database folder when asked. That will ensure all your data and settings are there later.

  2. If it exists, delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\ folder.

  3. Download and install the latest version from here: https://www.emclient.com/dist/latest/setup.msi

  4. Restart eM Client.

Hi Gary, getting now:

The application cannot access the default database location ‘C:BackslashProgram Files (x86)backslasheM Client’ because of folder permissions. Please contact your computer administrator for help.

You will need to contact your email provider for assistance. It could be a server issue, and issue with your account, you just have the wrong credentials, or some other issue, but they will be able to tell you which.

I am able to log in on my old computer, but not my new one??? It keeps giving me error message that my email address is not recognized???
