Unable to send out emails.

Hi, I seem to be having a problem with the sending emails out. They sit in my outbox since yesterday. I am using my email account provided by Orange. Broadband provider is BT. Everything was fine until last Friday when I uploaded upgrades including eM. Error message sais that there is no connection to the server, howevr wereceive emails successfully! Any suggestions, please?.

Double-check the settings for your outgoing email server to make sure that you have the correct server, port, username and password.

Hi,

I have never changed anything on SMPT tab in settings, so how do know that it is correct?

Go to Tools --> Account and then check on the SMTP tab for your account. Make sure there are settings in there and that the user name and password being used are correct. It’s generally good to have the box checked that says that the server requires authentication.

  • Merg

Please note that the option needs to be checked based on the server configuration, if server doesn’t require authentication, the same issue would occur as if it wasn’t checked and the server did require authentication.

If you’re having issues while sending a message through this account, are there any errors thrown by the application? If so, can you please make a screenshot of the error and submit the screenshot to us here on the forum?

If an error is thrown can you also please switch to the “Log” tab when it occurs, copy the content of the log and submit it to us here on the forum as well?

Thank you,
Paul

Hi,

I am unable to attach a screenshot.

It says:

“[SMTP] An attempt to connect to [email protected] failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailability or incorrect settings. Do you want to check the setting?”

![]( “Image null”) ![]( “Image null”)I checked settings, but I do not know what the correct settings are?

I contacted Orange, who is not able to help me, as they clearly confirmed that my orange account works well. The problem is with eMClient.

How do I attach files if I do not have PNG, JPG or GIF options and I do not know what they are.

I also cannot send emails, but receive them fine. All the settings are correct and I know the server is up since I’m using it fine with another email client. It looks to me like the application is ignoring the host server name that I enter and is instead using a derived name based on the email address. In my case here, the email address domain and the server name is completely different.

Hi Chris,

It seems that it is a similar issue. I am fighting with this for a week now. Orange- email address provider) is unable to help. BT - broadband provider recommends to contact Orange. All went pear shape since we switched broadband from Orange to BT. I am no wiser, time to give up eMClient!

But I am unable to link to orange address via Outlook (Windows 8) as they are not compatible. I dislike Orange webmail immensely, but I do not to change an email address!

Hello, if you’ve changed your ISP provider and using their email service, it is possible you need to make adjustments to your server settings, or if you’re using IMAP, try to setup the account using the automatic setup again, as if the autodiscover feature on your mail server is setup correctly, eM Client should be able to detect the correct settings.

I have the same issue with sending emails I checked smtp setting with Comcast and still have the problem

You can include images from your computer by using the camera button while adding a new a reply. Make sure to upload the images and attach them to your reply.

Also, when the error occurs, please switch to the “Log” tab in Operations, copy the content of the log and submit the content to us here on the forum as well.

Thank you.

thanks for the reply, I don’t have an issue with atachments, I can’t send emails they just stay in the outbox

Hi Scott, unfortunately I’m not completely sure what you’re referring to, can you please be a little more specific with the issue description? Are you seeing any errors when trying to send out the emails?

How large are the attachments you try to submit using the application? What version of eM Client are you currently using on your computer, can you please check the exact release number in Help > About?

when I try to send an e mail the message stays in the outbox and does not send
