Unable to send emails, can receive ok

3 days ago discovered I could not send emails from a live.co.uk or a gmail account but both accounts are able to receive emails OK. Checked error log after trying to send 1 email and this lot appeared among some folder synchronising.

If you can’t send mail with two different accounts all of a sudden and you haven’t changed any smtp settings, then I would first try powering your computer and modem / Internet connection for say 2 mins and then turn back on and see if that fixes it incase it was an IP address sending issue which can sometimes happen.

If powering off your computer and modem / internet connection makes no difference, then if you are running any eg: optionally installed firewall / security program or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns “other than what comes default with your OS”, try completely disabling those to test incase of any interference.

If you don’t have any optionally installed programs like that or you do but disabling made no difference, then if these are both IMAP account setups, suggest to go to “Menu / Accounts” and try removing and readding those accounts and see if that makes any difference.

If you do try removing and readding your accounts, make a backup first via “Menu / Backup” incase you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in Show Operations via the dropdown on the right of Refresh.

Thanks for help cyberzork
I checked my SMTP settings against those on phone which were exactly the same so discounted any changes there, emails still working OK on phone. Looking at log files didn’t give any clues either. So shutdown and restarted eMc, computer and modem 1 at a time with still no success. So next option did a full backup of eMc and then deactivated license (had a ver 9 license) and reactivated with a version 10 license and problem rectified itself. Never really found what the cause was
