I fixed this issue where Word, Excel, Adobe Reader, etc would not open emClient from within their respective app to email a file as an attachment.  For example in Adobe Reader, Word, and Excel, when I clicked the email attachment button, it wanted to sent the email through Outlook.  The fix for me was to go into Control Panel and click “Set this program as Default”.  

Control Panel > Programs > Default Programs > Set Default Programs.  Click on eM Client and the click on “Set this program as default”.  Done.
