Unable to download yahoo mail

For the past year eM Client worked wonderfully with my yahoo mail account. Now, for some reason I receive the e-mail, but can’t download it because a message tells me I’m not connected to the server. My google account works fine. I’ve tried different ports suggested on line with no luck. In frustration I deleted the yahoo account, losing all my folders, and created it again allowing eM Client to set it up. Didn’t help.
Any similar problems out there?

What version of eMC are you using?

It’s version 8.2.1473 (04b618f)
I came across an article that indicated that yahoo had changed some language that hindered eM Client.
But that was in 2020. It stated that I needed to update to a version highlighted. When I did that, it stopped downloading because I had a newer version. Perhaps the newer version is the culprit???

Perhaps. I am a little confused as to the sequence of events.

If you are comfortable executing these steps, give this a try:
(1) Delete any installation files you have downloaded.
(2) Uninstall eM Client, making sure not to delete your database directory when asked. This will ensure your settings and data remain in place.
(3) If it exists, delete C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client
(4) Download and install the latest version from the Release History.
