Unable to compose HTML emails

Hello everyone!
I can’t compose HTML emails even if HTML is set as the default for new messages and replies and option “Read all messages in plain text” is unticked.
I have the latest emClient version installed (v9.2.2054) on this laptop (Windows 10-64).
This was working perfectly on v8 (including HTML templates and signatures) but the simpliest snippet of html code doesn’t work on v9 for me. Code is shown instead (but links are clickable). Code is always is checked in a browser and works as intended. Am I missing something obvious here?

Note: I get HTML emails (newsletters and such), I just can’t send and receive mines and I don’t know what I used to do in the past to make this work!

Can you paste an example html snippet of code you are trying to use in the compose message, or template / signature.

Thank you @cyberzork for your reply. I’ll take signatures to illustrate the problem. The simple signature code below - for example - renders correctly in a browser and in Thunderbird (and in another email client I use for testing), but for the life of me I can’t figure out why it shows as code in eMClient. The same goes for any HTML email I’ve been trying. So frustrating.

It is because you are pasting code into the body text of the message, or text of a signature.

If you want to add HTML code, use right-click > Insert > HTML.

Thank you so much @Gary! I feel really stupid. I couldn’t remember such an elementary thing despite having used it hundreds and hundreds of times before.
