Two weeks ago em Client failed to connect to my google mail

Two weeks ago I started to get the message that the password I set up for my Google Mail is invalid and I have not been able to retrieve or send email via my em client. I have not changed my Google account password since setting up my em client Account. The same password works when I log directly into my Gmail account.

If you are using a username and password for the Gmail account, you will need to setup your account again as that method is no longer supported by Google.

Mine is a new eM Client accout, version 9 using Gmail. I have calendar and contacts but cannot get email itself. I have the dreaded red triangle that says “Connection failed An attempt to connect to “my email” failed. This could be caused by temporary server unavailablilty or incorrect settings. Please check the settings or click on the warning symbol to try connecting again.”

As a test, can you completely disable any anti-virus, firewall, proxy or VPN, then try again.
Sometimes even restarting your router may resolve this.
