Two problems with the recent update to v10

There are two problems with the most recent update to v10 for MacOS – one is annoying, the other one is breaking the workflow:

  1. the annoying one:
I used the update wizard to activate categories und the badges. I realized early on, though, that I don’t like the red “+1” badge, so I deactivated the badges completely. Unfortunately, even though I deactivated it in the settings, the badges continue to rear their ugly head. The settings are not accepted and I have no way to revert to the old badges. What’s more is that the program is mixing the old and the new badges. Searching for “badge” throughout the settings doesn’t garner any results and even re-starting the app does not work…

  2. the constant calendar reminders:
since the update I continuously get reminder popups for old calendar entries. Seems like the more often I confirm and close the reminder popups, the more frequent they appear. This is seriously breaking the app’s workflow.

And the problems keep rolling in…

The app crashed 4 times over the course of 15 minutes – no apparent reason.

MacBook Air M2 2022, 24GB RAM, Sonoma 14.5

Just another annoyance:

I tried to deactivate reminders (pop-ups) for the calendar completely, but the app states that this is not allowed. Same for promotions, etc.

Hello, have you contacted our VIP support?

Try to search for recent instead of badges. It can be disabled on these two places (one for the badge in folder list, the second one in category tabs)

The first tip actually did the trick. Deactivating “Show counter for recent messages instead of unread” actually got rid of the dreaded badges.

Thanks for the tip. 1UP.

2 the constant calendar reminders:
since the update I continuously get reminder popups for old calendar entries.

Go to the “General / Reminders” section via eM Client / Preferences in eM Client on your Mac, and put a check in the following box to disable reminders for past calendar events. Then save Settings.

Thanks, but that checkbox was already marked and still the reminders keep floating in… :man_shrugging:t3:
