Is it possible to turn off notifications for synchronization events in the Android app?
I only want notifications of new emails, not every IMAP synchronization of all of my accounts in every 5 minutes.

In the meantime I’ve just found the option, finally… ;]
It was in the very bottom of system’s app notification settings/notification categories, not in the settings menu in the application.
However, one can also tune some kind of notification settings there, but not everything, it seems.
If you only want to be notified of new emails for only certain accounts, you can also using the Android mobile app go to “Menu / Settings”. Then “Open your email account” and “Open notifications”.
You can then disable new mail notifications via Push at the top, or manually open “Incoming mail” or “message sent” etc to disable any option.
