Tracking links from Brevo newsletter/mail will not open in browser window - blocked by eM Client

Hi.

We send our newsletter via Brevo.

Yesterday, while testing a new newsletter, I noticed that the (tracking) links are no longer opened in a browser window.
Seems to be blocked by eM Client

I’m now on version 10.4.5647.0.

Until 10.4.5626.0, everything works perfectly (i still have the older version on a laptop).
The problem started with version 10.4.5642.0

Cross-check, everything also works perfectly in Outlook.

Even links in emails sent by Google (Google Ads) cannot be opened.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems and already opened a support ticket?

I’m on 10.4.5642 (the most recent update for my Mac) and it stopped opening all links in e-mails. I haven’t opened a support ticket yet –- I’m trying to work out what else is affected first.

Thanks for replying, the same effect here.
Please keep us updated on the support response, if you open a ticket.

Kind regards
Hannes

I’ve contacted Support. I’ll keep you posted.

Try closing eM Client and then “setting a different browser as the default” in your OS for a test. Then reopen eM Client and see if that makes any difference to rule out if its your current browser,

Thanks for the suggestion, but that has no effect on the blocked links.

Ok suggest you then on that newsletter email go to “Menu / File / Export” and save as (.eml) message on your desktop or documents and lodge that on a support ticket to be investigated to check the source code of that newsletter.

Have you received any feedback or a suggested solution from the support?

No, but in the meantime I thought I might have worked out a possible cause. I went through e-mails I’d saved and tested links. Some worked (Amazon, for example) but others didn’t, although I could open the URLs if I copied and pasted them into my browser. The URLs all appeared to be connected to tracking services. I thought I’d solved it and allowed tracking on those e-mails, expecting the links to open, but it didn’t change the behaviour. So I’m not sure it’s the reason, but I let Support know, sent them some examples, and said to close my ticket. I haven’t had a response to that. But I do know these were all senders whose links weren’t a problem in the recent past.

Yes, that’s my experience too. It’s definitely related to tracking links. Some work for me, and others don’t.

And there are definitely links that does not work since version 10.4.5642.0. Everything was fine before that.

Allowing tracking didn’t help me either. :frowning:

I didn’t check whether they were all using the same service, which could have indicated something had changed at that end. But it did correspond with the update, as you said.

The latest update 10.4.5674 didn’t help either.
But that was almost to be expected.

Any changes or news on your side?

No, I haven’t had a response but remember I did close the ticket. Still the same issue – I have to paste the link into my browser. You might want to raise a request yourself, though, because your log file might show some error mine didn’t.

I’m now wondering whether to install the new update I got a prompt for yesterday…
