The latest version seems to have introduced a minor bug. If you hover over the close/restore/minimise buttons until the text hint appears, the new graphics do not line up with the old so two top lines appear, superimposed on each other.
Hi Richard, not completely sure what you’re referring to, can you make a screenshot of the issue, the tooltip seems to display properly using the latest release, what version have you updated to, can you please check the exact version number in Help > About?
Thank you,
Paul
The version is 6.0.21372.0 and if I check for an update there is none available. The problem can be seen in this portion of a screen-dump the slightly lower and to the right version of the top appears as soon as the Close text appeared top right.
Hi again Richard, unfortunately I’m not able to reproduce this issue, what operating system are you using on your computer? Can you try to install this release and check if the issue persists, http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.21527/setup.msi?
I’m afraid this might be a system issue caused by graphic drivers or an older version of .NET framework installed on your computer. Can you please make sure all system components are up to date?
Thank you,
Paul
Thanks Paul,
I am running it on a Lenovo s205 notebook with Win7 64bit which is all up to date. It would definitely seem to be a change in the new version that is causing the problem as reinstalling that version makes no difference but downgrading to version 6.0.20498.0 resolves the problem.
Regards
Richard
Hi again Richard, we’ve seen a similar issue before, however it has been caused by an external application, which adjusts windows interface, fonts etc. Are you by any chance using such application on your computer? Can you try to temporarily disable such applications and check if the issue persists?
Thank you,
Paul
I feel that this is unlikely as all the earlier versions have worked and it is something that has changed in this version, not my computer. However, to try and pin this down I have updated my desktop computer, which I had avoided doing until the problem was sorted. This still uses Win7 64bit but is totally different hardware, and the problem is there as well. To ensure there was nothing else interfering with your software, although I am not aware of running anything such as you describe, I ran it in safe mode, and the problem is still there.
However, I have noticed one thing that might help. The first time after restarting the software the mouse needs leaving over the minimise/restore/close icon block in the top right corner for longer after the text box appears (saying minimise, restore or close) before the problem shows, around 7 seconds on my machine. However, after that it will appear every time at the same time that the text box appears, until the program is closed and restarted, when the first time again takes longer. Perhaps you need to try waiting a little longer to see it appear.

Richard
Has no one else got this problem? A little niggle perhaps, but failing any solution I shall be downgrading as the last version is without the problem and I have not yet found the new version has any improvements that affect me.
Richard
No issue here, but I’m just 1 user.
I have the same problem on XP. While I’m not as OCD about it as Richard is, there are other things about which I am OCD, so I feel his pain!
No pain left now Not only have I discovered I am not on my own, but I have gone back a version so I no longer have any problems.
Glad it works, please make sure to let us know if you come across any other issues or questions about the application, we’ll be happy to help.
Regards,
Paul
Just in case you misunderstood, it is the old version that works, not the new one unfortunately.
Richard
I have now been putting up with this for some time as I had to upgrade to the affected version when google changed its login process. However I recently tried Windows 10, and the problem disappeared. However, Windows 10 has problems such as Chrome not working and a slow startup with a minute or two spent on a black screen. These are recognised problems affecting large numbers of people, judging from forums, with several potential solutions but none that have worked for me so I rolled back to Windows 7. I am not using any programs which adjust the windows interface, fonts etc. (and in any case, as it was an upgrade such programs would also have been affecting Windows 10) so I assumed, from what you had said, that it must be connected with .Net problems so I have run the NetFX repair tool, NetFX Cleanup tool, System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 all of which are supposed to solve .Net problems. I have also checked my graphics drivers are up to date. The result is no change, the problem is the same as ever.
Any other suggestions?
