Hello everyone,
I use eM Client on my PC and also on the smartphone and rely heavily on tags, which I assign automatically via rules in the desktop version. This works perfectly on the PC. However, I’ve noticed that in the mobile app, some emails show the assigned tags correctly, while others don’t have them at all.
Since I depend on a consistent organization of my emails, this is a real issue for me. I need the same tags to appear both in the app and on my PC.
Does anyone know why this happens? Could it be related to synchronization with the mail server? Are there specific requirements for tags to be displayed across all devices? If anyone has a solution or has encountered the same problem, I’d really appreciate your insights.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards

As long as you are using a “Gmail, IceWarp, Exchange, Dovecot, or Imageway account” as per the eM Client blog, then the mobile app tags should sync fine with those servers between the desktop and the mobile Beta app.
So if you have one of those server type accounts, and the mobile app is only synching the tags some of the time, that might be possibly due to eg: optionally installed firewall / security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns. So if you have anything like that installed on your mobile device other than the default, then try completely disabling those and see if that fixes it.
Same goes on your desktop computer as the desktop tags might not be synching to the mobile properly everytime via the server which then doesn’t update the mobile app. So all depends “if your webmail is showing the correct tags as on the desktop” or if it also is missing any tags.
Now if you don’t have any optionally installed software like the above on your mobile or desktop installed or disabling those to test made no difference, then I would next (if you haven’t already) try updating to the latest mobile app where “there has been new iOS & Droid versions recently” via Apple app store and Playstore.
Next if you already have the latest mobiles apps, then try removing and readding your accounts ( if you haven’t already) using the QR Export via the desktop menu which is the fastest way.
Failing that try uninstalling and reinstalling the app and setup as brand new again as could possibly be a problem with the installation.
If uninstalling and reinstalling still makes no difference, then you might need to wait till the next mobile Beta app is released which from what I’ve read on the forum shouldn’t be too far away.
I have no installed firewall / security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns.
With two GMX accounts, the tag is not synchronized. For the other accounts, it worked after reinstalling and re-importing. So it seems to be an issue with GMX…?
Will there be an option to create rules for tags in a future version of the app? So far, this feature doesn’t seem to exist…
