Hi, I’ve searched but couldn’t find other topics directly addressing what I seek.
I’m hoping that it would be possible to set all tags to display how many times that tag has been assigned. For example, for the tag ‘Needs research’ if this tag is assigned to eight different items then 8 would display similar to unread message count.
Additionally and importantly, if the tag exists in more than one view (Mail, Events, Contacts, Tasks, Notes) then the total displayed is across all those views.

You can eg: see how many times a tag / label “has been assigned to an email”. When you open an email “at the top right of the email body” it shows you the tags / label folders that email is located in. So that will give you the total tag numbers. In this example below it has a Red Tag and Inbox tag.
Apart from that, you can also (click on the specific Tags / Labels) on the left “at the top left under the Favourites” which will then show you (all the messages that have been assigned with that tag).
So in your case if you have Tag / Label called “Research” then you can click that tag on the left under tags and it will show you all the messages with that Tag / Label “and see the total of them”.
If you don’t see Tags, using eg: eM Client V10, Click “Menu / Settings (Preferences) / General / Folders” and select “Tags in Mail” and Save and Close.
.
Thanks, I am aware of these options to discover the count for a particular tag. The left side panel serves well as prompt for action and review so referring to your screenshot, similar to how the unread count displays for Flagged, Drafts and Trash, I would find it very useful to be able to see the number of tag instances in the Tags section.
We understand, however there is a huge performance penalty for this feature. That’s the reason we don’t do that. We’ll consider some other ways how to achieve it in the future.
Thanks, that is good to know. It’s not a deal-breaker for me at any rate, just a ‘nice to have’, however performance concerns are way more important.
Regards, Robert
