Syncronisation of GMX Contacts (CardDAV) fails

Hello,

I struggle to synchronize my contacts from GMX to EM Client.
Synchronization with other CardDAV sources works successful.
Unfortunately GMX uses two different addresses for CalDAV (https://caldav.gmx.net/) and CardDAV (https://carddav.gmx.net/).

I did the following steps in EM:

  • Deleting all other accounts
  • Adding neu account: contacts → CardDAV
  • Account address: https://carddav.gmx.net/
  • Account / password: /

The result is:

  • an account with a register tab “CalDAV / CardDAV”. The option “services” → “CalDAV / CardDAV” is activated
  • When selecting the pages contacts or calender in EM, there is no other folder beside the “Lokale Ordner”. The contacts are not visible

Doing the same with the GMX calendar works fine. The difference is, in the account settings is a tab with name “CalDAV”, not “CalDAV / CardDAV”.

But, I like to synchronize the contacts, not only the calndar. :blush:

See @Gary post below for an example for the GMX.com CardDAV url. So yours should be eg:

https://carddav.gmx.net/.well-known/carddav

If that URL still doesn’t work, I would contact GMX technical support to check the URL

Some GMX users as well have had to eg: disable 2FA (two factor authentication) if you have that enabled in your GMX account. Just a thought.
