I have 3 IMAP mail accounts with around 200 emails in various folders.
eM Client takes around 15 seconds to synchronize these accounts whereas my Opera Email Client takes less than 2 seconds on the same machine.
(And an added bonus is that the Opera Email Client is free for an unlimited number of accounts.)
This is a massive difference, there must be some room for optimization of the synchronization procedures here!!!
.
Are you downloading messages for offline use in eM Client? It is the only possible explanation …
Yes, but even when everything is downloaded and there is no new mail to download it still takes around 15 seconds to synchronize the folders.
If there is new mail to download then naturally this takes longer.
The Opera Email client synchronized all the folders in less than 2 seconds and this was also downloading messages for offline use.
We are working on a fix for this issue - you can expect it in the next update.
Excellent, I’m looking forward to the next update.
Is there an ETA for the next update and a bug fix for this? It’s now been over 3 months. Can we have it escalated for a hot fix?
It has been already fixed and released. Do you still find the synchronization slow?
As far as I’m concerned it hasn’t changed at all, still around 15 seconds.
The fix doesn’t seem to have made any difference.
Do you have enabled Downloading messages for Offline use?
You asked me this question before and my reply is the same:
Yes, but even when everything is downloaded and there is no new mail to download it still takes around 15 seconds to synchronize the folders.
If there is new mail to download then naturally this takes longer.
The Opera Email client synchronized all the folders in less than 2 seconds and this was also downloading messages for offline use.
Thank you - please email me at [email protected] so I can send you further instructions. Thank you.
Synchronization speed has not changed. Mine’s worse - takes a full 2+ minutes to complete, even when there are no new messages. New mail pops up on my android, then I hit send/receive in EM Client, then 2-3 minutes later it’s finally in my EM Client inbox.
I have download messages enabled as well.
Do you use any Anti-virus or a firewall?
I do not have anti-virus and have the standard/default Windows firewall software.
Then I am out of ideas - sorry. I could take a look on this issue remotely so email me directly at [email protected] if you are interested.
I have this same problem. Opera mail is quick, EM Client is very slow in comparison. I have multiple client sites with the same issue. It is not a deal breaker, but definitely a far nicer experience in Opera mail.
I am happy to show some one this issue remotely if need be, please email me [email protected] (please remove this email after it has been copied, if possible).
I am also available on skype via the same email address.
Hi, what version of eM client are you currently using?
How long does it take to synchronize your email?
Thank you,
Paul.
Version 6.0.19861.0
The main issue I have at present, is over all, EM Client feels very slow to respond. For instance, I have “Download messages for offline use” checked, as well as the same for attachments, yet opening a email takes on average 1-3 seconds. It’s like the email is still being loaded off the server.
If I add a new email account, it seems to take an age to synchronize all of the messages into being offline, where as Opera mail does this in a fraction of the time.
Over all, Opera mail is snappy, I open a email it opens, where as in EM Client, I open it, wait, wait, wait, then it opens.
I can also add that resource usage is definitely not an issue.
Hi, first of all can you try updating your client to it’s latest version (http://www.emclient.com/dist/v6.0.201…), second is this an issue with old emails as well or just newly received emails?
Is eM client showing any activity in the bottom task bar?
Thank you,
Paul.
