Synchronizing folder list failed

I get a recurring error every few minutes:  Synchronizing folder list failed due to the following error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.  I’ve seen this same complaint posted elsewhere but I haven’t seen a solution that’s matched my situation.

I am using the latest em client 6.0.23181.0.  I am connecting to an Exchange account.  I have turned on the advanced setting to log “Exchange Web Services” and have sent them to [email protected].

Hello, no quite sure what you’re referring to, are you using any security software on your computer? Can you try to temporarily disable the software and check if the issue persists?

If the error reoccurs, please switch to the log tab, copy the content of the log and submit it to us here on forum for more information about this issue.

Regards,

An image of the error is below.  Also here’s the log from the operations window:

are operating as of yet. Here’s the log:

Also I am not currently using any security software.

Hello Alex, sorry about this inconvenience, this is currently a known issue to us and we’re working on a solution, I’m sorry for the the temporary issue.
It seems like this is an issue of the application caused by some recent changes on the GData protocol used for synchronising your Contacts and Calendars with Gmail.

Regards,

Got the same kind of errors.
Is there a possibility to put temporary synchronizing off?

Hello Kris,
I’m afraid there is no option for this, you can only disable the bugged account in Accounts settings, but this will only hide your account from eM Client until you enable it again.

Best regards,
Olivia

Olivia,

thx 4 ur reaction.
Unfortunately it is the only account I am using (a gmail) with eM client.
So if I disable it … I don’t have anything.

Hello Kris,
if you are using gmail you cant have the exact same error, seeing as gmail uses IMAP or POP settings and not Exchange as is shown in the logs above.
Can you copy your error logs for me here, please? We don’t have any unsolvable issues with gmail at the moment, so I’m sure we can find a solution

Best regards,
Olivia

Hi Olivia,

sorry I did not see this. I hope I am not flooding then this topic.
I am using a Dutch version.

What I have is this error :
Synchronizing folder ‘[email protected]/Directory/’ failed due to the following error: Execution of request failed:
long address here and then Incremental update was not possible; please fully resync.

Hi Kris,
it’s no problem, just next time be careful that you don’t follow a wrong fix or aren’t giving up on a easily solvable issues

First go to “Help > About” and copy the number of eM Client release you have installed.

Then, since there seems to be problem with IMAP, so I’ll ask you to turn on IMAP logging for me.

Go to “Tools > Settings > Advanced” and under your gmail account check IMAP logging.

After this error pops up again, go back to these settings and press the “Send logs…” button, but change the recipient of the email to my work address [email protected] with a link to this forum topic in the body of the email, so I can get back to you faster.

Best regards,
Olivia

Hello Kris,
you need to fully resync your Contacts, because of an error that happend last week on Google servers. Go to your ‘Contacts’ tab in the left menu and right mouse click the Contacts and Directory folders under your affected account, choose ‘Properties > Repair’ and click the ‘Repair’ button. Wait for the repair to finish before starting repairing each folder.

The most efficient way to make sure you didn’t miss repairing any of the affected folders is doing a full resync of your gmail account in eM Client - deleting the gmail from ‘Tools > Accounts’ window and adding it again following the usual procedure as shown here: http://www.emclient.com/em-client-wit…

Best regards,
Olivia

Works perfectly after deleting and enabling again the account.
Thx a lot!
