Synchronization error with Nextcloud birthdays

Well, it depends on which calendar has the issue. If it is a read-only calendar like a birthday calendar generated by the server, you can’t make changes. That means you can’t dismiss a reminder as that needs to be written back to the calendar and you don’t have permission to do that. Go to the Calendar section of eM Client and by right-click on that calendar folder choose Properties, and disable reminders.

Thank you for the tipp. So far it works, but I will see what happens when the next birthday comes around.

Now I see in the changelog of the new version 10.1.4417:

Read-only calendars support

I updated to the new version and unfortunately I can’t see any difference in the very annoying daily error message for the Nextcloud birthday calendar. The former discussed method works only for a few days. Is it now possible to integrate the Nextcloud birthday calendar as readonly? There seems to be no separate iCal link just to this calendar…

Hi Gary,
It is sad to hear, that after years emClient is not able to adapt the treatment of read-only calendars. The proposed work-around with deactivated reminders first also does not work reliably and second I want to get reminders for birthdays and anniversaries.

I am asking myself, why other vendors of calendar and cardDAV sync-solutions get that under control, but emClient not. Frankly, I assume that it might a a few lines of code to suppress the synchronisation behavior for read-only calendars.

Sorry to be that direct.
