I cannot find a way to synchronise appointments and taskscreated in the eM Client desktop app with the Android app.
It cannot be right that you have to enter your appointments and tasks individually on each platform and then manually monitor and update their status on each platform.
Where is this synchronisation option hidden in the settings?
Many thanks in advance for your feedback/tips!
I cannot find a way to synchronise appointments and tasks created in the eM Client desktop app with the Android app.
Calendar appointments and tasks will only sync between Computer and Mobile “if your Calendar and Tasks are currently all in a cloud online account” like with a eg: IMAP / Exchange Google, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud etc depending on what type of account you have.
POP accounts or Local Folder calendar & tasks don’t sync between Computer and Mobile apps.
As a test, I created a calendar on the platform and wanted to integrate it into eM Client via ‘Subscribe to Internet Calendar’, but that didn’t work either, probably because the link name specified by the online calendar doesn’t match.
Or is this only the case for me?
Here is the link provided by kalender.digital (it leads to a sample calendar, so it is not a private link):
I would contact kalender.digital support and ask do they have a CalDAV url you can use like the above Yahoo and iCloud examples. If they do you can then add your calendar manually.
Googling it appears they do have one starting with eg: https://caldav.kalender.digital/etc.. or https://[domain].kalender.digital/etc.. So their technical can advise on that.
I am using kalender.digital as well. I managed to import the data from kalender.digital to eM Client: Settings - Export. Here you get an *.ics-Link. The Problem is: it’s reading only. You always have to make your appointments in kalender.digital. Appointments you make in eM Client wil not be seen in kalender.digital. I couldn’t manage to import the feed into the mobile client.
So I deinstalled the mobile client. It isn’t useful unless you find a way to synchronise all the features, including ToDo’s between Desktop and Mobile Client.
I simply use the desktop client for mail and tasks and stay with kalender.digital.
Thank you for your efforts/tips!
I have now managed to integrate the calendar into the eM Client desktop app without any error messages – the *.ics link provided the solution.
That’s exactly what I think. It’s unfortunate that eM Client doesn’t offer this practical feature.
When I used Outlook, it was easy to enter appointments into my smartphone while on the go and synchronise them (using an additional app) with Outlook on my desktop. Bidirectional synchronisation would also be possible today with Microsoft 365.
With direct appointment and task synchronisation between desktop and mobile app, eM Client could become a veritable Outlook replacement that also meets the professional requirements of companies and private individuals who no longer want to/are no longer allowed to use certain software and servers due to the US Cloud Act.
