Sync with Outlook

Gary,

" AirSync and ActiveSync are not the same, but it is OK that you thought so as it is a common misconception." Really? I guess the Developers at Em Client are under the same misconception. I guess that’s OK.

Yes, please read the original question. MS Outlook is the application that is failing.

That being said, I am now permanently withdrawing from this forum.

Thank you all for your comments. I am sorry that what I thought was a straightforward issue has led to so much discussion and disagreenrnent.

The email with Windows 10 proves to be a rather simple system called just Mail. For some reason the problem seems to have solved itself although this is probably because my grandchildren were using the Laptop over the holiday period. What they’ve done I don’t know and they can’t recall!

As I say, I am sorry to have bothered you with this and am also so sorry for the trouble this has inadvertently caused. I do hope it is some recompense if I wish you all a Happy New Year.

Richard

Hello Randy,
just to clear up the confusion about the outlook.com accounts setups - we currently support 2 kinds of setups.

We used to have an AirSync setup for mail as well (so it was a single protocol, similarly to EWS now), but unfortunately, Microsoft ended support for this protocol and migrated all outlook.com accounts to Exchange servers.
AirSync which worked this way used to be called DeltaSync - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeltaSync

EAS (Exchange Active Sync) on the other hand is a completely different protocol, which has never and can never work in eM Client, unfortunately. This protocol belongs to Microsoft and can only be used with Microsoft email clients and some other mobile platforms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exchange_ActiveSync

I hope that makes it a bit more clear for your future civil discussions on this forum.

Regards,
Olivia
