Sync Problem - Google Contacts

on opening eM Client I get this error, anyone know how I can fix it:
[Google Contacts] Deleting items in folder ‘MAIN/Other Contacts’ failed due to the following error: Parameter validation failed for “resourceName” : The value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$

It started happening sfter I tried to delete a contact in Other Contacts, which didn’t work, so I went to GMail and deleted it there, which did work but then the error messages started happening

See @Gary post extract below from the following thread.

Quote extract:-

“If it is about the value did not match the regular expression ^people/[^/]+$. go to the Contacts section of eM Client, then by right-click on the Gmail Contacts folder, choose Properties > Repair > Repair. This will resync the contacts with Google and the error should disappear”.

Thanks, that fixed it

I also have this problem and the solution did not work for me; there is no Gmail Contacts folder, and the Repair button does not do anything. v10.1.4588.

If there is no Contacts folder under your Gmail account “in the Contacts section of eM Client” then something has gone wrong when your Google account was added into eM Client or your Google Contacts are missing online.

So first go online via the following the following Google url and make sure your Contacts are showing - https://contacts.google.com.

If the contacts are showing online via your browser, then first make a manual backup of eM Client via “Menu / Backup” incase you you need to restore for any reason. You can see when the backup is complete in “Show Operations” via clicking the drop-down on the right of Refresh.

Then go to “Menu / Accounts” and remove and readd your Gmail account via the automatic account wizard at the top.

Near the end of the wizard you will get a prompt to “allow eM Client access to your Google account” which will include Gmail, Contacts, Calendar etc. So make sure you click allow which should then return to eM Client and your Google Contacts should appear “under your Gmail account in the Contacts section” as in the example below, and you shouldn’t get that sync error anymore.
