Strange scrolling behavior

I have been having strange behavior scrolling through mt email. Seems to be recent so it may be Tahoe related. The scroll seems to have a life of its own. I start scrolling and even though I stop it will some times continue for a while and sometimes it reverses direction on its own. All pretty weird. Anybody else see this?

Me too.

That doesn’t happen to me personally using Tahoe 26.2 and the latest eM Client V10.4.4756 with a Mac Mini M1 & M2 Pro using wireless or bluetooth external mice or usb mice.

First make sure your on Tahoe 26.2 as there was OS scrolling bugs reported in OS 26.1

Next if you already have OS 26.2, then suggest “if you haven’t already tried”, close eM Client and reboot your Mac just incase its some resident memory program interferring in some way.

If rebooting makes no difference, then next suggest to try going to Finder / Applications and “drag eM Client app to the bin” and then redownload the same or later version of eM Client from the release history page and reinstall and see if that fixes it.

Next if reinstalling doesn’t fix it and you are using an external mouse, “maybe test with another cheap usb mouse” to rule out if its your current mouse causing the random scrolling issue.

If you are using internal trackpads, see the following suggestions from Google on scrolling that sometimes continues unexpectedly.

Turn Off Inertial Scrolling (If possible): While native macOS settings don’t allow disabling “inertia” (the coasting effect), some users have found relief by adjusting scroll speed in System Settings > Accessibility > Pointer Control and clicking “Trackpad Options” to reduce scrolling speed.

Disable “Natural” Scrolling: Some users have reported mixed results by toggling this setting in System Settings > Trackpad > Scroll & Zoom.

Check “Show Scroll Bars”: In System Settings > Appearance, change “Show scroll bars” to “Always”. This can sometimes alleviate UI bugs where the OS fails to stop a scroll action, according to reports.

Clean the Trackpad: Ensure there is no debris on the trackpad that might cause ghost input.

Thank you. Good set off suggestions for me to work through.

Will try suggestions, thanks.

Works normal again after update to latest version 10.4.4867 and subsequent restart. Missed out unfo to just restart my previous version to test improvement, so still may be related to Smooth scrolling "issue" (stuttering) - #7 by Zuilin
