Strange Mail Preview

I noticed a few Emails that show formatting tags in the preview instead of the actual message.
Since the Emails show fine on other Clients, like Gmail or RoundCube or different mobile Clients, it fair to state that EMclient has an issue with showing the emails correctly.

Using eg: eM Client V10.1.4828 on Mac that Reventor Cloud example email when i copied the source code and pasted it into a new email sent to myself as a test, looks all good in the preview window as per the below html example preview on the right. I don’t see any formatting tags.

Thats strange, because on windows it looks like this:

With the Version V10.1.4588

Viewing that same email in eM Client V10.1.4588 Windows is identical for me as per below. Sorry i carn’t replicate that same issue.

Suggest to maybe try “changing the reading font” in eM Client via "Menu / Settings (Preferences) / Mail / Read and see if that makes any difference. Could be possibly your current default font in eM Client.

Apart from that suggest is to try uninstalling eM Client and “don’t delete the database” when asked on the uninstall wizard. Then reinstall the same version either from the Release history page or Windows Store depending on where you originally installed it from.

If it then still does it with future different emails, then if you have a paid active Pro or Personal eM Client version, then go to the VIP Support page and login and lodge a support ticket to be investigated.

I can confirm its not the Font. I changed it, still no difference.

Do you know if EmClient has specific software enviroment requirements in order to work as expected? Meaning, some rendering might relay on Windows Features like WebView etc. and i might be missing this component.

I’m not aware of any special requirement other than the default stock Windows 10 / 11 OS.

So as long as you have the latest OS 22H2 / 22H3 updates it normally should display fine.

Unfortunately, there’s nothing we can do at this time, the issue lies with the sender of this specific message.
We take the preview from plaintext part of the body and it looks like this:

thanks for the info. so we know where the issue lies. i saw this problem with quite a few emails over the past years, and all of them rendered “normal” in other Clients. maybe EmClient could Update the way how the preview is generated by simply ignoring formatting tags.
