I have weird question about spam, malware and virus in EmClient.
When I open EmClient and go to inbox 99% or more of time everything Is good.
But when I click on Junk Folder and EmClient populates all the junk/spam mail ect just downloading/populating in EmClient triggers my AV more than I can count.
Just a few minutes ago clicked junk folder to check for good messages that got put there by mistake.
I did not click any email or display any in the junk folder yes my AV went nuts telling me to stop browsing websites in emclient.
Since I did no click anymail and none displayed except the list of mails in the junk folder. How can i protect myself more in EmClient?
Are there any settings in EmClient to prevent what ever code in in the messages I never even looked at from effecting EmClient and making my AV send me warnings.
I find it weird because if I use Browser to log into mail server all is good with no issues.
But with EmClient mail that is bad is effecting eM Client and then my av.
Probably because your AV is scanning and being triggered by the local files already on your physical device, and is not concerned about files displayed in your browser (which are not actually stored on your PC or device yet). Your AV is only checking downloaded content or attachments / malware in emails, not stuff on the web (unless you attempt to download anything malicious).
I suggest you consider reducing your junk email by either changing your email accounts and / or using an email Alias / Hide My Email address for certain sites so you easily deactivate those if you are being spammed. A bit late now though if you have used your real email address with certain sites already - as it has no doubt been propagated.
I would also suggest you go to https://haveibeenpwned.com and enter any email addresses there to see if they have been involved in any data breaches.
I suggest that that results given by the utility at the provided link is treated with caution, why?
I created a new email address that has NEVER been used and now deleted to test
the findings at: https://haveibeenpwned.com/
The utility claims this dummy address has been compromised which is impossible,
First as @Mav says, maybe the issue is with your AV app, what AV app do you use?
eMC does not have a SPAM filter.
Mail that is being treated as SPAM is as the result of…
Rules that you have set locally
OR
Action by whatever filters/rules are in use on your mail server where
you should either be able to make changes yourself or request the action.
You can use Webmail to mark particular and/or blocks of mail as NOT SPAM.

Thanks for all the replies to my post, I really appreciate it.
I use Bitdefender Total AV if that matters.
As for mail server I have it set to the max on defense, but it does not seem to help.
I even have it set ti not trust people in my contacts unless I add to safe senders list.
I at one point started adding emails to block list then the block list got to big and was told to empty the list by mail provider. Guess it was causing problems for them.
All my rules are set server side for best protection.
Anyways thanks again for the help and advice.
