the problem is due to my fault I did not clear a tick box “delete mails after 7 days”, and after start up using emclient, app downloaded all mails, and after 7 days, all mail around 17 000 mails was deleted, server kept only 2650 mails from 17000. all mails on my laptop.
So, the question is, how to backup all my mails back to server. really really needs to solve this problem! hope your engineers can help me, I suppose I’m not a first one cunt who was not so attentive, have not found it here, hope you have a solving advice! please please please help me!
POP3 is not meant for storing messages on the server, but sometimes users want that, so try the following:
Go to Menu > Accounts, and make sure you selected the correct delete settings. We don’t want this to happen again.
Still in Accounts add a new account for the same email address, but use the Automatic Setup. This should setup the account as IMAP. You can confirm this after the account is setup by seeing if there are IMAP and SMTP tabs, where your original account has POP3 and SMTP tabs. If it does not do that, remove the newly created account (be careful you select the correct one) and do it again, but follow the Help File section on setting up an account manually. You want to select IMAP when the option is presented.
Once the account is setup and synced, in the main eM Client window, you can copy all of your POP3 Inbox in eM Client, to the IMAP Inbox in eM Client.
When all the messages have copied, go to Menu > Accounts and remove the newly created IMAP account. Be careful you select the correct one.
eM Client will soon resync the POP3 account, and all the 17,000 messages you uploaded to the server may download again. You will have to use eM Client’s Deduplicator to remove the duplicates from your POP3 folder.
Hope that is clear. Please ask if you don’t understand anything, and before you try this procedure, make a backup using Menu > Backup.
