Sort contacts by last name

How do I sort contacts by last name?

If you don’t want to change the filing names for all of your contacts, you also have the following option:

1. Open the main contacts screen.
2. Right click on the toolbar and hit ‘Customize…’
3. Add ‘Custom View’ to the right hand side (‘Items to show’)
4. Click on ‘Custom View’. This gives you a table of all your contacts.
5. Click on ‘Surname’ column header to change sort order.

I don’t see a ‘Surname’ option in the list.

Here is what my ‘Custom View’ looks like. Do you have something that looks roughly like this?

If it’s just the ‘Surname’ column that’s missing, you can right click on the column headers and select the ‘Columns Configuration…’ option to make sure that it’s visible.
