Been using EN client since 2017 and suddenly I cannot send emails, the smtp settings fail. I have checked the settings with my ISP and they all are correct. I have now deleted and redownloaded EM Client but it won’t download the smtp settings only the imap settings. Can I manually set up an account? My wife also has exactly the same problem with her E M Client.
Go to Menu, Accounts, Diagnostics, Diagnose. If it shows an error, click fix.
That automatically happened when I tried to reset the account. The fix button does not fix the issue, I get the message “The server may be unavailable or the setting are incorrect. My settings are correct and are the same as I have been using for several years + I can access the server from an alternative client without issues. However, another problem has arisen - when I load EM Client I get the message " EM Client cannot load because it has been overwritten by a newer version, do you want to update” when I update and download the newer version I get the choice of Repair or Remove I have tried both options and reinstalled but the same " EM Client cannot load because it has been overwritten by a newer version, do you want to update" weather I repair or remove and reinstall. I’m using W11 with the latest 23H2 update.

What is your SMTP settings ?
Also what providor do you send mail through ?
