Since the updates to version 10.4.XX were released, I constantly have problems sending emails. eM Client first generates an error message (Connection failed) after which the mails are eventually sent. I initially assumed my email provider (posteo) was experiencing server issues, but Posteo cannot confirm this. I now have the latest version installed 10.4.4209. I would greatly appreciate any help.
Upgrading to a later eM Client version wouldn’t normally cause sending issues and its more likely either the SMTP server problem, or a physical connection between you and the SMTP Server, or possibly some eg: external resident program interferring with the sending of mail.
So first off, suggest to power off your computer and modem / router for eg: 2 mins and then turn back on and try again. Then see if that makes any difference “incase its some sort of sending IP address problem” with an old IP Address. Also check your u/l speed to makes sure thats normal.
Next if powering off your computer and modem for 2 mins makes no difference and your u/l speed is normal, then next if you have any eg: optionally installed firewall / security programs or optionally installed antivirus programs or vpns “other than what comes default with your os”, try completely disabling those to test.
Now if you don’t have anything optionally installed like that or you do but disabling made no differance, then go to “Menu / Accounts” and click on your Posteo “SMTP tab” and update what your SMTP Server address, Server Port & Security Policy is so we can check if there is any obvious errors.
Also click the dropdown on the right of Refresh and click “Show Operations” and click the “Log tab” and look for any obvious error messages and paste them in this thread. Blank out anything personal in the error messages and we might then be able to see why its not sending.
Hi there,
I also have some strange problems with gmail after the last update. It syncs extremely slow. Fading of messages also works slow (instead of my Nvidia 3060 videocard). But slow gmail work is very frustrating. My gmail account is quite big (20-30 gigs), but until now it was never be a problem.
Emclient is the best e-mail product I have seen in years, so… do it right ![]()
Thanks for your detailed reply. I tried disabling my Adguard VPN, and now my problem appears to be resolved. I just created an exemption for the the VPN and will continue testing it.
