If you click on the toolbar on the [new] button and select ‘mail…’ to start writing a new e-mail, the title of the window is “new message” … I think that should be “new mail” or “new e-mail”.
Related to this: if you are in the contacts view, and select a contact and right click the mouse to get the popup menu, one of the options is “send message…”. I think that should be called “send mail” or “send e-mail”.

look at the dropdown menu for [New]:
new ‘event’ --> shows a window with title ‘event’
new ‘contact’ --> shows a window with title ‘contact’
new ‘distribution list’ --> shows a window with title ‘distribution list’
new ‘task’ --> shows a window with title ‘taks’
but only new ‘mail’ --> shows a window with title ‘message’
In other words: that’s not consequent.
you can also change the menu option from ‘mail’ to ‘message’ of course.
Only ‘message’ can also have associations with chat messages for example.
I am sorry, but we really don’t plan to change it, not in foreseeable future.
