Great. I still don’t know how to do this.
There is no accounts under tools??
@berniesparkes You can also “right click” on your email account in eM Client and you will see accounts on the menu in each email account.
I have done that but I still don’t see anywhere “download messages for offline use” in accounts.
@berniesparkes When you are in your account properties you will see an “IMAP” Tab (for IMAP email accounts).
There is an option you can check - “Download messages for offline use” .
Ok, got it. It was checked. It seems to be on the initial opening of an MP4 and after that it seems fine.
Thanks for your help.
I am running the latest release version of eM Client.
I have an IMAP account and a fast connection.
I have “download messages for offline use” checked
When receiving mail, the headers display quite quickly, but the full emails can take 5 to 10 minutes!!!
I don’t have Adobe Acrobat, I use FoxitReader for PDFs, but I do have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 installed.
My only virus checker is Windows 10’s Defender.
All I want is a simple email client that works without any hassles.
Is that too much to ask?
I had the same problem and Patrik said this and it worked !
" Could you please try to right click the shortcut you use to open eM Client (either in start menu or on your desktop), and there select “Properties”. In start menu firstly you would have to press ‘Open file location’. After opening properties you should see a “Target” value - something like this:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe”
You need to change it to:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” --disable-attachment-indexer
This process (disabling the attachment indexer) should boost your performance significantly. "
ross, this does not seem to work for me as when i try to change the target value i get the error message that this path cannot be found. How do i correct this. when i hit file location, i cannot find the file attachment indexer. Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi @redfordl
I was browsing the forum and noted your problem and of course I don’t know if you have been able to resolve this issue.
However, if not and you have a standard installation here is the corrected entry you need to make:
“C:\Program Files (x86)\eM Client\MailClient.exe” /disable-attachment-indexer
I suggest that you copy and paste this as spacing etc is important.
I have no idea if this change will actually increase the performance as other factors such as a slow internet connection and computer capability can have an effect.
Anyway good luck

thanks skybat for your quick response. Problem is not the internet or my computer speed, but with emclient itself. Will try to paste and copy the pathway and see if it helps on the loading speed of client. Have a Great Day!!!
skybat tried to copy and paste this link ,but i still get the error messge. Any Fix?

Hi @redfordl
Without having more information I have no idea why you get an error.
When you used copy & paste are you certain that there were NO spaces before or after the entry?
I don’t and have no need to use the entry: /disable-attachment-indexer
However, I have just tried it and it operates for me with no errors
To try to resolve your issue let me have the following:
In the eMC Client Properties window under the shortcut section there are several fields.
Please tell me EXACTLY what is the entry in the fields named Target & Start In.

Tenga en cuenta:
I am just leaving Sevilla to drive to Valencia so please don’t expect an immediate reply.
Hi redfordl, sorry I only just noticed your reply now, it seems that the cure I was told about didn’t last long, I had followed the instructions and it was ok for a short time, I have since put the old target value back, still looking for a positive cure.
