Slow searches

Hello,

I was hoping to migrate from Mailbird to eM Clinet to make use of the useful rules features that are Mailbird lacks.  However, I am finding the search speed frustratingly slow.  Admittedly, the combined size of my two mailboxes are around 10gb, however in my current e-mail program the search resutls (across all mail fields) are instantaneous.  In eM Client they are taking upwards of 30 seconds.  I am finding it is quicker to open my old e-mail client and conduct the search than it is to wait for eM Client to return results!

My e-mail accounts are set to download messages in full.

Please could you let me know how I might go about solving this issue?

Thank you for your help!

Theo.

If you are using a mechanical hard disk, especially the slower RPM versions used in laptops, that could be it. Replacing the hard disk with the more modern SSD can significantly improve not only databases like eM Client but Windows in general.

Conversation mode in previous versions of eM Client was know to slow things down. Some changes have been made recently to correct this. You can disable conversations in Menu > View > Conversations, and see if there is any improvement. You can also check to ensure you are using the latest version of eM Client available to download at http://www.emclient.com/release-history

Thank you for your response.  I do, indeed, have the databse for Em Client stored on a mechanical drive.  I have moved the file to an SSD and the system has sped up considerably.  I will test it more over the next few days and let you know if I continue to have problems.  Thank you for your help.
