I know others have posted on this issue, and the suggested solutions did not fix it for me, so…can anyone tell me why it takes nearly a minute to open a .PDF file attached to an email. I can see the program wanting to scan for viruses and such, but seriously? Outlook/Thunderbird open PDF attachments on my computer (with 21st century hardware) instantly. I purchased a license for this program in the hopes that it would perform better than the trial version did, but alas, no. Any suggestions are welcome.

Sounds like you have a optional local Antivirus program running on the computer startup set to automatically scan incoming attachments / emails which is causing the delay opening problem, as there is nothing in eM Client that scans like that.
So if you do have an optional Antivirus program installed running resident on startup, suggest to “disable the mail scanning part of the Antivirus program”, so it’s still resident in memory but just not interfering with email arriving or opening.
Or alternatively contact your Antivirus technical support to see how to allow the mail scanning to still be enabled, but not interfere.

The performance is the same Trial or Pro, it’s just that you keep “the full features of the program after 30 days” by buying the program. With the Pro version you also get a 1 Year VIP support via the following page, where you login and an assigned eM Client technician will get back to you.
