Sky Yahoo! Mail

Sky Yahoo! Mail only uses POP but eM Client has set up the incoming server as IMAP with no option to change to POP. I keep getting message “Server says invalid/password” although both are correct. I assume these issues are linked.
In Accounts, Diagnostics says the setting (ie IMAP) is correct but I believe it’s not.
How do I resolve this?
