Since yesterday morning I have been unable to send or receive emails in eM Client.

I have Windows 10. Since yesterday morning I have been unable to send or receive emails in eM Client. My ISP is Easily. I am getting messages saying email recipient not accepted by server. Haven’t changed anything - tried to “Fix” the Smtp server but seem to be going round in circles!

There may be two different problems here. One is that you are not able to send and receive, and the other is that a recipient is rejected by the server.

A common reason for not being able to send and receive is because your anti-virus or firewall has blocked the connection. Can you disable those and try again.

For the recipient being rejected, check that you have a valid email address for the receiver.

Thanks for your reply - my Windows Defender Firewall is allowing access to my email accounts and
I know the recipients email address is valid.

What is the error you are getting that you are not able to send and receive?

I know the recipients email address is valid. I need to find out whether the problem lies with eM Client or Easily…don’t really want to have to get rid of eM Client!

Thanks for the screen shots.

It appears that you may have the wrong SMTP server address. Or at least the SMTP server you are connecting to does not accept messages from helenlush.com.

Go to Menu > Tools > Accounts, then click on the SMTP tab for your account. Check with your provider what the correct SMTP server address is and change it accordingly.

I’ve checked this already.  Strange that it was all working fine then suddenly this problem arose.  I don’t know what else to try so I’m taking eM Client off.  Thanks for your help anyway!

Usually when something was working, then it stopped, it is because of some change at the server end.

But I still think that smtp.co.uk is not the correct SMTP server for your account. It should be something like smtp.helenlush.com or even smtp.easily.co.uk

Thanks for your help - I am inclined to blame Easily for this problem - they have been a disaster lately!  I have somehow managed to get another Email app up and running with no help from them!
