Please add the folder name where the message is located to the message header or somewhere easily visible.
I know the folder name is listed in the ‘Message Properties’ window, but that’s not efficient and it does not help when one has a lot of folders.
My advice to emClient is to duplicate what Postbox does in conversation view.
Thank you.
Properties is the easy way to view the folder.
The more complex way is to change from the default compact layout to the single line layout which allows you to add a column for the folder. First, you will need to disable Conversations, as conversations span multiple folders, so a folder name can’t be displayed. You disable conversations by selecting Menu > View > Conversations > Disable Conversations. Then go to Menu > Settings > Mail > Read and scroll right to the end. Select the option to use single-line layout. You can also do that by dragging the right border of the message list towards the right. When it exceeds 600 pixels it will become a single line layout. In that layout you can add the folder column by right-click on the column row header and choosing Columns Configuration.
Gary, thank you very much for your quick reply and your help.
My feature request is to add the folder name to the conversation view. Something similar to what Postbox does. If I disable conversations, I already know which folder I’m in.
Yeah, sorry, my mistake. Usually this question is asked in relation to search results.
Unfortunately that is not possible because a conversations spans multiple folders.
Gary, thanks again.
Postbox was able to handle it. I’m not sure if you’re responding as a forum member or on behalf of the emClient team. Since I’m new here, I’m also uncertain if this is the right place to submit feature requests—please let me know if I should direct them elsewhere.
If this is the final answer from emClient, I’ll avoid spending more time trying to learn it. Thank you.
Same here, I need this feature urgently «show folder name in conversation» or at least showing it in the message pane on each message. (I’m a Postbox victim too)
Vote here for this feature: Conversation View and Message Location | Improvement | eM Client
I’m not sure why this would make a difference. What we’re looking for is something eM Client already does for Gmail Topics, and Postbox does for folders.
Given eM Client now owns Postbox, and already has a similar feature, “that’s not possible” seems pretty unlikely.
Thank you, delook, for pointing me to the right direction.
