Trying to set up in Windows XP laptop, Gmail account - authentication module (eM client would like to access, etc.) is grayed out for allow…what the heck? Can’t proceed! Thanks for any help.

can you try logging into your gmail account through Internet Explorer and then trying to authenticate your gmail in eM Client again?
Maybe try waiting a bit, sometimes it takes google a while longer to check all the data.
